Creativity at CH Interior Design doesn't stop with the creation of beautiful spaces...I have also started to create my own acrylic paintings. After many years of a self-enforced hiatus I decided to take up the paint brushes again and attend a once weekly acrylics painting course, and I'm loving it. Here are a few of my works:

We received many enquiries after our last posting about small spaces - so here we are again.
This time a client asked us to come up with some designs for making use of a landing space for a growing family, and we think this testimonial sums it up nicely:
“I’d spent 12 years living in this tiny house wondering how on earth we could create some space for my growing family (and all our stuff!). The upstairs landing was the only place available without extending and we couldn’t afford to do that. I’d almost given up because I couldn’t seem to make it work in any flexible kind of way….and then C H Designs came up with some genius solutions.
So now we have a spare room which can either be a double with a kingsize bed, a single with a single bed, a twin room, an office or a chill out sofa space. Perfect for all the family and all their family and friends to come and sleep over. AND it’s got loads of storage space!”
These photos show the various configurations of the space:

We've just spent a wonderful morning, painting with Myrtle Vintage Furniture.
We attended the course on paint effects using Annie Sloan Chalk paints and very inspiring it was! It's so good to get hands on and creative again. We at CH Interior Design can fully recommend this course if you are interested in creating beautiful up cycled furniture. Matt and Helen were fabulous host/teachers, and the supplied excellent cake for refreshments!

We are proud to announce that the Uys Gallery, in St Ives, have agreed to display some of our lovely retro Art Glass.
We have many items within our 'collectables' and 'antiques' collections, which we sell from our Antiques Emporiums' cabinets, but we felt that this gorgeous glass deserved a bit more attention. The Uys Gallery seemed the ideal place!

Please come and join us in Chapel Street, Penzance this Saturday 13th December where we will be for the Jamboree for Jubilee .
The Chapel Street Traders are all supporting this great event to raise funds for the renovation of Jubilee Pool that was badly damaged in last winter's storms. We will be there with our stall of lovely vintage 'stuff', so pop down to see us, and buy, buy, buy our delectable collectables!

We are heading out to Charlestown this weekend, 29th & 30th November, for the Christmas Event that is being hosted by The Old Workshop. The Sail Loft Antiques Emporium will be open, and you can find some of CH Interior Designs treasures in our cabinet.
There are many other stalls and events to see there too, and we'd love to see you there.

We are currently involved in a bedroom refurbishment and have been asked to up-cycle some old furniture that was heading towards the furniture recycle centre in the sky!
So we decided to use some Annie Sloan chalk paint for the job, as we wanted a lovely cool colour and a professional hand-painted finish for the chest of drawers. We chose a cool Paris Grey colour and we think the paint has come up trumps and are very pleased with the result:

As and exciting addition to our business, earlier this year we embarked upon the idea of offering our clients a chance to accessorise their completed home and work interiors, through our extensive collectables range that my partner and I have inherited!
We have a wonderful collection of lamps, ornaments and small furnishing items dating back to the early 20th century right up to some wonderful kitsch 1960s and 1970s pieces.
We were delighted to come across the The Old Workshop, Sail Loft Emporium whilst on a trip to Charlestown in the summer, and even more pleased when they offered us a cabinet within the emporium, whereby we can proudly display and sell our wares. We are enjoying continuing business with the Sail Loft Emporium as well as adding an extra string to our interior design ‘bow’.
It's well worth a visit to Charlestown to see this and other delights - there are many very good cafes!

We’ve just completed another lovely interior design proposal for our client: Proper Care Cornwall.
We were given the brief to come up with a scheme for the refurbishment of their new offices, training room and staff break-out area. We worked with Office Smart in Redruth to come up with some lovely funky office furniture ranges. We chose from Senator office seating and Bisley for storage furniture – we just love their funky metal colours!
Bisley – lovely metal storage.
We're pleased to say our client was very pleased with the result:

We are now nearing the end of another successful project for our private client in Mawgan Porth. Our client is very happy with the result, and so are we! We hope you agree that their new home is looking stunning.
With the help of Catchfrench Architects and HMG Construction, we have completely remodelled the 1920s upside-down house.
